@tommyrpearson@DJ_Renney The only people who HAVE to dress up for concerts are the musicians! (I'm one) Somehow, the whole thing of changing into smart, costume like clothes prepares us for performance. I would never expect audience members to dress up MORE or LESS than they would for any night out.
@RadarLanark You have loved and cared for her beautifully and I'm sure she feels that deep inside even if she can't express it now. You will be able to visit and continue loving her.
So many people will be able to relate to your sadness. Sending you all the strength possible.
5 people, paying 250k to travel in an unsafe vessel to a dangerous place.
500 people, in an unsafe vessel, trying desperately to get to a safe place.
Why do some people feel such a connection with the first group, but not the second?
@FraggleWorks So glad you like it! It was a labour of love when all my freelance orchestral work stopped yet again for lockdown reasons Christmas/New Year 2021/22.
@robtruthseeker@NoNutTraveler Speaking as a parent of a severe dairy allergy sufferer, yes, particles of an allergen in the air or accidental contact with the skin can cause anaphylaxis with strong potential for loss of life. In our case, we've had several blue light trips to hospital. The fear is real.
@NoNutTraveler@kevinmd I wish there could be more education about allergies throughout school for staff and young people alike. In my son's experience, even the Home Economics teacher didn't have the most basic understanding of severe food allergy. If the cookery teacher can't get it, who will?
@mirandacello Yes, but if you have 3 main bows, then maybe one at a time?! In a few weeks you'll have 5 fabulous bows that play beautifully. I also procrastinate about changing strings and then remember how lovely my cello can sound...off to order some new ones after this post!
Speechless. Wept when I saw a choir from Macclesfield at about 4 mins in in the full video, where I started my own singing journey. Thank you so so much to everyone at home and abroad. β€οΈ
Three cheers to Sir John Eliot Gardiner for immediately steering a chat about Coronation Music on @BBCr4today onto the disgraceful cuts to @BBCSingers and the @BBC orchestras. These issues are related: if you want glorious music at state occasions, support those that do it best.
