Great leaders know how to work hard. It’s as simple as that. I’ve never known a truly successful person who was not a worker. It’s a time-honored, Biblically endorsed, proven recipe for success. Work hard, really work, and rest, really rest, regularly.
Great leaders know the recuperative power of rest. I was slow to appreciate the absolute NEED FOR REST. The physical , emotional and intellectual expenditures of leadership require, not suggest, REQUIRE the engines be shut down regularly.
If WE don't educate our children someone else will. In our day...someone else is the State; and the State we can be quite certain, will make a hash of it.
I don’t know if it is possible to love anyone at first. Our impressions are built on deception. Almost by accident, some in your life get close. The show wears off and they reveal their truth. Then, you get the choice to love.
