Physics teacher.
Happy to share science resources.
Liberal & leftwing, although pretty conservative on school behaviour and traditional teaching & learning.
@KTG_1990@adamboxer1 If I'm going to be coached I want direct instruction from someone who knows what they're talking about. Not needing expertise is a bit red flag for me.
@Greangrass333@TruthFairy131 What I love is when people point out that they're capitalist countries, but if you want to enact any of their policies they'll scream "communism".
@TvboyMister@TruthFairy131 By taking money we mean lobbying government to stifle unions and allow wages to be suppressed. It's happened to the point that the economy as a whole is suffering as money in billionaire bank accounts does not end up in the economy nor invested in much productive.
@Miss_Snuffy@Trivium21c The dark skinned elves just make me think of colonisation and slavery ... Poor tropical born elves taken to the North Pole to forcibly make toys for white children's Christmas.
Who knows... Perhaps there's a niche for elves of colour and this is the free market filling demand
@RealMonyMonz@tombennett71 Good. Correcting misbehaviour and understand good behaviour is a major need that needs to be met.
Misbehaviour is not usually about unmet needs, just very correlated.
@RealMonyMonz@tombennett71 So they are misbehaving?
You can empathise and look beyond the behaviour and still address, and not tolerate, the behaviour. Not to do so is called enabling. It's harmful for the other students and the student that is enabled to think that it's ok to act like that.
@RealMonyMonz@tombennett71 That's absolute stupid nonsense. When have the needs of children ever been truly met?
That does not explain the level of poor behaviour in Scotland or English and Welsh schools. Look at a rural school in south east Asia and ask if their needs are met and how behaviour compares.
@Miss_Snuffy At best such things will act as a multiplier.
Without implementing discipline that include the real threat of losing a school place, there is nothing to multiply.
Zero x any number = 0
@johnstuart55520@tombennett71 It's been my experience only a small (influential) minority would do what they do in school in the real world. That's because it's just not normal and often just wouldn't be tolerated like it is in school.
@FrankFlobs65902@Miss_Snuffy Would say a leader in the most traditional sense... Only in modern times has the pope not influenced other European rulers directly.
@Miss_Snuffy She is the one being pressured to resign over her handling of the grooming gangs investigation by the victims.
Meanwhile Michaela is an inner London school considered outstanding in safeguarding...
@norchcity No. I think the system is so broken that the only natural way to think for those that want genuine change is to push boundaries to the extreme to counteract the bullshit norm.
@greeborunner@TyburnFleet I think we should compare schools that use and don't use isolation by filming the antics and showing the public what British school children get up to in some schools. The problem is that poor parents who've raised out of control kids control the narrative.
@JamesAFurey Good luck.
I look forward to hearing how you deal with standing up to the pressure faced by administration you've described having to deal with. I hope you can and if so I hope your methods spread.
@greeborunner@TyburnFleet Then they should be sent home and come back to isolation the next day along with several hours of detention. Refusing to comply with the consequence should be a fast track to suspension and permanent exclusion.
