@unixterminal @popey @JamesHenstridge Starting at t450 I was surprised that 3rd party non OEM would not charge due to BIOS detection and restriction. I think it can be hacked to woek but point is your route seems like the best way to go.

@fredldotme @UBports yeah that is good too. But even kdeconnect seems too battery intensive in my use of it so nothing beats the simplicity of file transfer to / from your phone while still in your pocket :-)

@popey enjoyed the last episode of @ubuntupodcast as usual. Any chance the probs you had with Gnome were with Ubuntu 20.04 hitting swap? We noticed problems with swap getting triggered w/ GBs of RAM still free. Enabled zswap and probs gone. For us wasn‘t Gnome but was RAM mgmt?
