🚨 Exciting News from Greater Manchester Academies Trust and Manchester Communication Academy! 🚨

After 18 months of hard work, we’re thrilled to announce that Phase 2 of our £12 million expansion at MCA has been officially approved! 🎉

This phase includes:
🔬 A new science block with 11 labs and collaborative workspaces
🏫 A dedicated Year 7 Transition Centre with classrooms, tech spaces, music & drama rooms, and a large hall

Exciting time @gmacademies and @ManComAcademy as we embark on a massive expansion of one of our schools. Increasing the provision of quality education in north Manchester. Week 6 of phase one and the steel frame is up. 8 more weeks and we will have complete phase one.

Today we took the next steps towards completing phase one of our expansion project at @ManComAcademy Working with LMM ltd as our Principal Designer we have now appointed our Principal Contractor. Work is to begin in the next few weeks.

As soon as one project finishes I can’t help but start a new one. This time @gmacademies are going big. We are expanding @ManComAcademy and increase our PAN. Two new blocks, an extension to our sports facilities plus car parks and MUGAs. It’s going to be a busy few months.

2 classrooms, a staff work room, 3 meeting rooms, a conference room, a zoom/MSteams room, 2 offices and a sensory room.

Well that’s what we achieved in 8 weeks

What can you achieve in 8 weeks? Well @gmacademies with the help and support of Dan Schofield and his team from Schofields & Sons and Joshua Martin and his team at Lancaster Maloney Martin we managed to turn an unusable space into a space for us all to use.

They are finally here. By next week @gmacademies will have one of its schools running off solar PV and battery power. They say it’s good to be green and we are taking our responsibility seriously. Massive energy bill

After a bit of an over run today @ManComAcademy finally have a completed set of stairs to aid with student movement around our school. Calm and orderly corridors help to maintain an excellent learning environment.

Back to work today and some things have changed.
At the start of the week we had a double height space, one week later a we have two new teaching spaces, 2 intervention spaces and 3 office slowly appearing @ManComAcademy

@ManComAcademy we are increasing our PAN so we have been looking at student flow around the building. To help improve this we have given students another access point to our 1st floor. A good facility movement plan helps to ensure an orderly environment.
