Thank u all for your support! An hour long meeting later, I’m confident the work we do shone through. For any PSHE leads in schools expecting a call, this may or may not help you! These were the main questions I can remember!
#TeamRe I'm looking to make our yr 9 arguments for the existence of God unit less Christian-centric next year, including more arguments from Islam. We do Aquinas/cosmological, Paley/Design, Problem of evil and theodicies (The Fall, John Hick, Job, etc). Any ideas?
@MrsLoxtonRE Thanks! Any key arguments or names from it you can point me in the direction of? Unlikely to buy, read, and make curriculum changes before the end of the academic year, but definitely one for the summer.
@teachwellall Increase the number of specialist provisions, increase/ringfence funding for support staff and pastoral staff within mainstream provisions. Reduce emphasis on academic 'one size fits all' pathway for all all which is not appropriate.
Final lesson before the RS Paper 1 exam tomorrow.
Me: 'I'll now accept being showered with gifts for my service to you all'
Student: 'is that a Jesus quote?'
🤦🏻♂️
@kairosbutterfly To quote @RE_McGEE , to see the world in glorious technicolour. For me, out of all my thinking about RE, this best sums up its importance and potential impact.
@JeniMcClean@TeamRE_UK That's great thank you, I meant the themes booklet. Hoping they don't get penalised if they don't write the questions in the margins? Need to do a dummy run through with them as I wrote the questions on their mock 'answer booklet'
AQA RS teachers, is the 16page answer booklet for the themes paper in the public domain? Cant find it. Would like to know exactly what students get in front of them to replicate. Do they write the question numbers in and then their responses? Any help appreciated! @TeamRE_UK
@re_runner@TeamRE_UK Thank you, very helpful. I put the questions in the margins of the answer booklet (lined paper essentially)for their recent mock exam but will have to explain the above. Thanks again!
I’ve been quiet on Twitter recently… after 5 years teaching (and 9 years of living) in Kent, I’m moving to London to start at a new school in Camden in Sept. I’d love to connect with any RE buffs/school leaders/organisations in the City! Recommendations please @TeamRE_UK 🙏🏻😊
Having to cancel a sports day for a strike is absolutely heartbreaking. But better to do it this year, once, in the hope that we don't have to permanently cancel them once we have no teachers and no money to rent premises.
I heard this recently, and I’ve been thinking about how often I operate as if perfection is the only worthy pursuit.
Dont let fear stop you from working on something and succeeding with a good, albeit imperfect, outcome. Life isn’t all or nothing.
Useful for students I reckon.
