The world would be 10x better if we all understood one thing: our most controversial disagreements don’t have a right or wrong answer—they’re simply preferences. Even when there is a definitive answer, it might not be accessible right now because our knowledge is still developing. We’re fighting over beliefs. Exploring different paths benefits us all by accelerating our understanding.
Nobody said Palestinians are entitled to massacre civilians. That’s the straw man you need because the real argument is harder to answer.
Palestinians don’t lose basic human rights because Hamas commits atrocities, just like Jews don’t lose their right to safety because Israel commits atrocities.
The Holocaust was real. Jewish displacement was real. Jewish refugees from Arab countries were real.
And Palestinian displacement was also real.
One tragedy does not erase the other.
The standard is simple: no massacres, no collective punishment, no permanent occupation, no permanent statelessness, and no using historical trauma as a lifetime exemption from accountability.
If that sounds antisemitic to you, your looking for propaganda clarity instead of a moral one.
@VitalikButerin@pwlot I think (2) is the main issue. A simulation usually doesn't have the same precision as reality. If you were to simulate something to the exact same resolution, then you're actually just extending reality. Therefore the substrate would be the same.
@Arian_Khorasani@ziv_ravid Elon was great before his attention span shrunk to the size of a tweet. The solution is to pay more attention, I don't think you can really do that when running 5 companies and spending most time on x.
@MickWest@MvonRen There are many consistent testimonies. That's data. As for the lack of technical data, what kind of data would you expect? If such a weapon exists, it would make sense for it to be classified and for its existence to be denied rather than confirmed.
@LauraAboli_X I've noticed the catalyzing effect too. I agree with your analysis, but I’m not convinced it's deliberate. He's so confident he can get away with it, and so transparently corrupt, that he ends up exposing and highlighting the corruption itself.
You've heard of e/acc but have you heard about apocalypse/acc? Some people genuinely believe the best way to bring back Jesus or the Messiah is to accelerate the end of the world.
Commanders at more than 30 U.S. bases have reportedly told troops the Iran war is part of “God’s plan” and linked it to “Armageddon.”
One said Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon.”
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says it has received over 110 complaints about commanders describing the war as “biblically-sanctioned” and a sign of the Christian “End Times.”
The unsettling question: how many people in positions of power actually believe this?
When a TV news anchor inexplicably ends up as Secretary of Defense, at some point you have to wonder whether belief like this is part of the selection process.

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth talking in 2018 about the 'miracle' of reconstructing the 3rd Temple of Solomon, the place where the Antichrist will be worshiped according to our Orthodox Christian faith.
@mtracey Of course. If you look at them with a total lack of curiosity. If you decide to take everything at face value and make zero effort to connect the dots. There are many threads to start pulling but you decided there's nothing there. Weird position to take for a "journalist".
