@CatRM16@WalshFreedom Can't do it repeatedly at the same polling location, so that's gonna cause problems. Gonna be real difficult to get multiple registered voters across multiple polling locations that are also never gonna notice someone else voted in their place.
It's just an idiotic "concern"
@CatRM16@WalshFreedom If other people were going and voting and pretending to be other people - which is the only thing that a voter id law can prevent - that's an exceptionally risky effort with minimal benefit. Can't do it randomly, because the person may still try to vote.
@no_ways_tired@KellyScaletta What your contract with your landlord says doesn't dictate the rules for elections.
And historically most pay by mail bills have had the rule that it was paid on time if it was postmarked the due date. So stop applying your anecdote as the rule, because you are stupid.
@Sonovah@KellyScaletta@tedlie2u Voters are not a normally distributed population. It's not very complicated.
You have to be ignorant of statistics to think you can easily apply statistical modeling to election returns.
@RemyEye42390@KellyScaletta I know this might seem foreign to you, but Democrats just want all the votes to be counted. There's not a fucking "scheme".
Hell, every state should go fully mail ballot. It is cheaper and improves access. We should all want voting to be easier, too many people don't vote at all
@Sonovah@KellyScaletta Jesus fuck y'all just love imagining scenarios to get upset about. Reality be damned.
No one is "finding" ballots.
You are seriously requiring belief that every Republican election worker is in on this stuff. It's psychological derangement at this point.
@sAywHAAt5@ramit This is not about voter registration. And even with registration, review and confirmation happen behind the scenes, which obviates the vast majority of right wing conspiracies around voter registration.
Our elections are secure. Every state should be making it easier to vote
@sAywHAAt5@ramit So it is requested with valid id. And mailed back. What does the signature on the mail in ballot do? If you are concerned it wasn't filled out by the registered voter, who do you think filled it out and returned it? You have to hallucinate conspiracies to be worried at all.
@stillvaunted@ThePlannedEcon@David_J_Bier So destroy due process. Cool, you're on a plane out next. W/o due process, who are you gonna complain to?
If our laws don't protect the people you don't like, they don't protect you either.
So fuck off you racist piece of shit bot
@sAywHAAt5@ramit In person voter ID literally only addresses the exceptionally rare instances of a person pretending to be a different registered voter. This is simply not a meaningful issue to justify burdens that reduce voter turnout.
What is it you think voter ID is doing?
@sAywHAAt5@ramit So who has access to those numbers and is fraudulently requesting a ballot without the voter's knowledge? If the voter doesn't know and tries to vote, the mail ballot is flagged.
What is the conspiracy you are imagining?
@sAywHAAt5@ramit Every step you add is a burden that reduces voter turnout. That turnout reduction is what we balance against the possibility of "fraud". The fraud is all but non existent, so the far larger concern is getting people to vote at all. We don't have an election security problem.
@sAywHAAt5@ramit Since you seem to care so much about this signature validation, what is the actual tangible issue that you believe signature validation solves? What existing problem does it resolve? Does the burden it imposes on legal voters outweigh the benefits it may provide?
@sAywHAAt5@ramit Cool, in PA they have to submit their id every time they request a mail ballot. I don't give a shit about the signature on the return envelope. There's direct tracking of who requested and who returned. What is the issue you are supposedly concerned about?
@GongsBobby8821@RepMikeLevin@RightPenAI Alright, fuck off bot. You are just doing free word association at this point. The us didn't adjust its Ukraine policies b/c hunter was on the corporate board of a single company in Ukraine. Alito violated his judicial ethics requirements by failing recuse. Only 1 was improper.
@BughThom@sAywHAAt5@ramit It isn't true. A valid signature was still required, there just didn't necessarily also have to be an additional signature on the outer security envelope as well.
This was about confusing documents creating clerical errors not being used to invalidate otherwise proper ballots.
