I’m thinking of legally changing my name to “Someone”, that way I’d be the most quoted and most misquoted person in history. #quoteoftheday

RIP to my second cousin Dale. When I read the
"as per his request" there's no doubt we had same model of blood running through our veins.

The world lost #RogerMiller 34 years ago today, one of the most interesting and talented people to walk the planet. He wasn’t well documented when I became a huge fan so I spent years finding out as much as I could for a book I wrote, written under the concept of “Old Friends”.

Another big one got away on this day 8 years ago, @tonyjoewhite - by far, the song I’ve listened to the most in my lifetime (by multiple artists) is Polk Salad Annie. My original band The Memphis Deliverance’s shirt paid TJW tribute with this rare artwork by Ron Sawchuk.

It's been 14 years without the great Bill Dees, the most uniquely talented guy I ever knew. I miss him everyday, I've never known anyone that spontaneously creative or lived life in the manner he did. He was a true original. @ROYORBISON @JackPribek #BillDees #songwriter #RIP

Sammi Smith was incredible, I get lost in her voice and phrasing. Paste Me on Some Feathers, The Toast of ‘45, Bridge, Pen in Hand, Rings for Sale and many more are perfect. If you don’t know her magic, you need to.

23 years without the great Sheb Wooley - fascinating guy with a deep well of talent. I only spent a few hours with him but the memories have lasted decades. Dive into Sheb's amazing life with Suzanne Gould's stellar bio. #RIP #ShebWooley

[Lyle E Style @mrestyle]

Twenty years ago today, the legend #ShebWooley passed away. He was a great guy and super talented in so many ways. I think of him everyday. If you haven’t checked out his biography by Suzanne Gould, it’s definitely worth picking up! #RIP

RIP Saint Johnny Cash - 23 years later, still mourning the coolest of the cool who had a presence like no other. #johnnycash

[Lyle E Style @mrestyle]

The only time my wife threw a plate at me was when I was distraught over #JohnnyCash’s passing 9/12/2003, I suggested we postpone our 9/19/2003 wedding until I got over it. It’s a good thing it wasn’t postponed, I’m still not over @JohnnyCash being gone but I am happily married.

I’m disappointed in myself for not thinking of this decades ago: when signing off letters and emails that I’m indifferent or pissed off, instead of ending with my typical “Regards,” (my code for ‘f— off’, which, for the record, few pick up on), I now sign…

Regardless,

Lyle

To quote @FriedmanKinky: "Raise your glasses one and all, drink a toast to the Great Tompall".

#TompallGlaser passed away 13 years ago today. He was one of the coolest, funniest, best singers, greatest interviews & most talented yet underrated of them all!

Here’s hoping @martystuarthq performs the masterpiece Hobo’s Prayer this week @ club regent in Winnipeg. Also hoping for Walls of a Prison, Greatest Love of all Time, Observations of a Crow, High on a Mountain Top, Doin My Time… He’s one of the best

It’s been ten years without the Hag, one of the greatest talents of all time. This is a pic of the last time I saw him in Minneapolis. Let’s hope the #MerleHaggard estate releases the unreleased vault of Haggard gold soon - studio, outtakes, demos & live material.

40 years ago today Bishop Stasiuk told me I am going to hell for breaking out of a seminary in Roblin for going to see the devil (@alicecooper) in concert in Winnipeg the night before. He confiscated my Coop merch after going through it pointing out all the evil & phallic images.

@mrestyle This is your best tweet.

Years ago I was told my best wasn’t very good. Since then I never ask anyone to send my best to anyone for any reason, there’s no point.

Two dozen years without Waymore, not a day has passed that I couldn’t have used way more of him. #waylon #WaylonJennings #waymore #waylonrules

If you are a #RogerMiller fan, you’ll want to check out this show feat Roger & appearance by #LeeHazlewood who is called his manager. I was told Roger/Lee lived together for a while but never heard of him being his manager & Lee refused to talk about it.

I’m disappointed in the #applewatch features, you would think it could provide proof of #alien #abductions but it can’t. I’m not going to upgrade until they offer that feature, so when I wake up with mystery pains that I can check off that possibility off the list of causes.

@Goggle_Lobster Custom made I’m told :) #RogerRules

I wonder how many people on the planet got a #RogerMiller pullover from Santa on Christmas morning… #WhoopWhoop
