To George and Laura, Bill and Hillary — we're grateful for your friendship, counsel, and devotion to this country. And to Joe and Jill, thank you for being on this journey with us.
Congress never voted to bulldoze the White House or for a dollar to build Trump’s golden Ballroom for the Epstein class (or anyone else). But now we learn that Trump’s bad architecture obsession is costing us all $600 million. Turn your illegal Qatari jet over to the people and we’ll sell it for $400 million and we’ll take the rest out of other illegal emoluments and slush funds, including the $1.776 billion fund for insurrectionists, and the Board of Peace, another unauthorized Trump fund bankrolled by money misallocated from the State Department.
"The UFC event captures something about this moment in our history.
After all, it’s vulgar, it’s violent, it’s commercial, it’s grandiose, it’s tacky, and it dishonors a place once thought worthy of care and respect. In other words, it’s Donald Trump."

Trump administration officials earlier this year killed a federal criminal investigation into the coal empire owned by Sen. Jim Justice, the Republican former governor of West Virginia and a close ally of the president’s.

Jamie Raskin responds to Trump calling for his expulsion: We don’t quite know exactly what triggered him, but it was a rough week for the president in the Judiciary Committee. Maybe he’s got Raskin Derangement Syndrome or something.
Bottom line: We’re doing our job. We’re on the front lines of this struggle against corruption and authoritarianism, and we’re not going to be deterred.
This is not middle school, where he thinks he can expel someone for questioning his authority.
Elon Musk held up a chainsaw, fed USAID into the wood chipper, and at least 600,00 people have already died as a result - two-thirds of them children.
History's first trillionaire.
The bottom line: The federal judges have ruled more than 13,300 times — the overwhelming majority of the 15,100 rulings — that ICE had detained people in violation of the law or their due process rights.

Great news – today, I got confirmation from my team that the 44th person who came through my office's triage center was released from ICE's custody.
It's hard to imagine something more un-American than detaining the father of a U.S. service member who is trying to lawfully go through the immigration process. Truly despicable.
When we take back the House in November, we will put an end to Trump's immigration dragnet and abolish ICE.
.@JamesTalarico: There's been a lot of talk in this race about what it means to be a real man.
Recently on the campaign trail I told the story of my adoptive dad, Mark Talarico. Every Saturday morning, he would mow our lawn, and then without anyone asking him to, he would go next door and mow our neighbor's lawn because she was a widow. My dad never talked about it — he just did it, because that's what a man does.
A man takes responsibility, upholds his commitments to his family and his neighbors, and does what's right, even when no one is watching.
Here's what real men don't do. They don't lie and cheat their way through life, sell their soul to the highest bidder, or steal from other people in order to enrich themselves. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.
I welcome this debate about what it means to be a man, and I don't think Ken Paxton or Ted Cruz are in a position to tell anybody what a real man is.
Seven years sober through federal prosecution and national humiliation. No defensiveness. No apology tour. Just wit, accountability, and the specific lightness of someone who stopped running from the worst thing they survived. That is what credible recovery looks like. Receive it that way.
Hey, New York Knicks Fans (and all New Yorkers), you won last night.
As he has done for decades, he once again returned to your beautiful city to manufacture chaos, squelch joy, and center himself, and as you have done for decades, you told him where to stick it—and a weary nation thanks you.
You were all of us, last night: pissed off, fed up, and sick to our stomachs of this needy, repugnant, self-obsessed megalomaniac.
You stood as our repulsed proxy, saying to his face what every truly patriotic American dreams of saying.
And yeah, in the books this will go down as an “L” for your team, and that’s gotta sting this morning. Still, I hope you find some comfort in knowing that in the eyes of tens of millions of patriotic Americans throughout this nation who have had it with this self-absorbed professional parasite, you won.
So, from the vast, grateful multitude this morning who were lifted by your truly inspiring performance last night: f*ck Trump, f*ck ICE, God Bless America… and Knicks in 5.

Required watching for every young person today!
At 4am, Senate Republicans gave the greenlight for the IRS to drop ALL investigations into Trump and his family.
That means if Trump is evading taxes, we’ll never know.
I have a bill to make this illegal. And I won’t stop fighting to get it done.
A three-judge panel that included 2 Trump appointees found that Alabama’s congressional map was intentionally discriminatory.
Now SCOTUS has overturned that, with the conservative majority ruling the lower court judges “did not heed the presumption of legislative good faith.”
When Trump leaves office, the world is going to witness the biggest and most joyful celebration in history.
Not just in America, but across the globe.
The day is coming when our long national nightmare will be over. Hang in there, friends! 🇺🇸🎉
Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
As President, I would read 10 letters a day sent to me by ordinary Americans. At the Obama Presidential Center, we’ll have some of the letters I read — and responded to — every night. I still get emotional reading them, and it’s one of my favorite exhibits.
Malignant narcissists never grow out of their 8th grade juvenile delinquency. Trump thinks this play on words is clever and innovative. Narcissists get pleasure from name-calling to degrade people — projection to smear and deflect from his ineptitude. Trump is dumb, never happy.
