Wore a wrestling shirt to gym. Some kid asked me if I wrestled I told him yes in PA. He went on for 5 minutes telling me how PA is the best wrestling state. @PAPowerWrestle they even know the truth in IN.
With how starting pitchers are going to be viewed in 5-10 years, I’m very interested in how Zack Wheeler’s HOF case is going to be viewed
Easily the best SP of the 2020’s so far and one of the best postseason SP of all-time
The @Phillies hit 4 game-tying or go-ahead homers in the 9th inning in their series against the Nationals.
That's the most by any team in a single series in MLB history.
True Phillies fans understand what it was like to root for a losing team year after year. Harper took this franchise and turned it around.
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
🚨CYCLE SCORING ALERT🚨
Tons of folks sent this one in from the @Phillies and @Mets game, with Bryce Harper completing the cycle with this fifth inning triple.
I believe this was scored correctly as a triple.
This falls under Rule 9.06; Determining the Value of Base Hits.
The key is Harper never slowed down at all and was going for third the whole time. One of the things the scorer has to determine is whether or not Harper went to third on the throw or not.
He obviously was going for third regardless, and the fact that he would have been out is inconsequential here.
The OS Manual states this:
“Had the bases been empty, would the batter-runner have attempted to advance the extra base? If not, the value of the base hit should not include the additional base.”
The answer on this one is yes, Harper would have ATTEMPTED to advance. Doesn’t say if he would have been safe. Since he would have attempted this regardless of the throw home, he was, IMHO, correctly credited with a triple.
