When my daughter was five, she interrupted a bedtime story to tell me, “In a cake eating contest, it doesn’t really matter if you win or lose because you get to eat cake.”
I think about that a lot.
Indian Boomers aren’t able to convince Gen-Z saying “The alternative is much worse” coz most of these kids were watching Shinchan that time. Majority of the big achievements like Ram Mandir, Article 370, Naxalism etc have been about correcting historical wrongs. None of these wrongs are taught in NCERT, so for the Gen-Z these achievements are worthless.
The current govt after feeling smug about these milestones is resting while corruption is rearing its head again. And that’s the only thing visible to GenZ.
The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.
spending at least 1-2 hours a day reading, painting, dancing, taking long baths, listening to classical music, sunbathing, going on walks listening to birdsong only, praying, meditating is a sign of a healthy nervous system. the more hours you can go without your phone, the better. give your brain and your body time to relax, unclench. romanticize it as if you're living in the 90s.
