🌍 Thank you to all our wonderful Carnforth residents who joined us for our Commonwealth Day service today.
A special shout‑out to the brilliant pupils from Yealand C of E Primary School - your enthusiasm made the morning truly special! 💛💙
Jackson’s Thought of the Day:
John Virgo is a fantastic snooker commentator. I’ve never known a man get so animated about the direction of the cue ball.
“WHERE’S THAT CUE BALL GOING!!! WHERE’S THAT CUE BALL GOING…”
@chriscollins462@PaulEdgeworth If you’re a fan of a railway station, I recommend the one within my ward.
Carnforth Station where Brief Encounter was filmed.
(Although it’s not as modern as the shiny new one in Sunderland)
@chriscollins462@PaulEdgeworth If I could think of anything the Lib Dem’s had actually delivered in Sunderland I could reply with:
“People in glass BOXES shouldn’t throw stones!”
This morning I had the honour of marching in the Carnforth Remembrance Day Parade and laying a wreath on behalf of @LancasterCC.
I was joined by @munrobasher3000 who also laid a wreath on behalf of the three Labour Ward Councillors..
Thanks to @CarnforthTC for organising.
The PowerPoint mayor to the rescue. But listen up Jeremy Corbyn. You, Zara Sultana and MOU Ltd are not the future government. You never have been. You’re not even the future pub quiz team. You’re three clowns in a wheelie bin on fire, convinced you’re storming the Bastille.
Although ceremonial events are not usually my thing, it was a pleasure to represent Carnforth & Millhead at the annual ‘Mayor Making’ ceremony.
Cllr Margaret Pattison was sworn in as Mayor of Lancaster City Council. Mags is a true champion of our district.
