The #MuslimWorldLeague extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Islamic world on the blessed occasion of #EidAlAdha. May Allah make it a joyous and blessed Eid for all.
Today, our Muslim friends celebrate Eid Al-Adha 1447 Hijriyah. The holiday coincides with the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage, which is a time of devotion, gratitude and generosity.
It is traditionally observed through the offering of Qurbani, such as cows or lambs, to family, neighbours, and those in need. May this blessed celebration bring peace, joy and abundant blessings to all.
My warmest wishes to everyone celebrating #EidAlAdha.
At a time of conflict, division and violence, let us all be inspired by this celebrationsβ spirit of solidarity, community, compassion & empathy.
Eid Mubarak!

New Zealand condemns the behaviour of Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Last year, New Zealand placed a travel ban on Minister Ben-Gvir for severely and deliberately undermining peace and security and removing prospects for a two state solution.
His latest conduct with respect to the Gaza flotilla, which has been seriously criticised by his own Prime Minister, is further vindication of that position.
We expect Israel to adhere to its international legal obligations, including in its treatment of New Zealanders participating in the flotilla.
We have instructed MFAT to call in the Israeli Ambassador today to directly pass on our grave concerns.
