@Dough_boy91@Schneider_Stv@ColtonOgburn I should also add that I am aware that movies have been purposefully made to fail, but that's usually because a new executive has been hired and they want to torpedo their predecessor's projects to make themselves look better. Even then, it's usually not major tentpole releases.
@Dough_boy91@Schneider_Stv@ColtonOgburn Because they didn't trust his vision. Studios are not in the business of losing money. If they fire a director it's because they think the project has gone off the rails under their direction and that the movie will fail to turn a profit.
@ZeGrandPumpkin @ColtonOgburn I'm trying to figure out your logic here. So the WB execs knew they couldn't compete with Marvel, but they were arrogant and went ahead and made the movies anyway despite knowing they would fail to make as much money as they wanted?
@ColtonOgburn It's like how they claimed Disney bought tickets for Captain Marvel to inflate its box office but for some reason didn't do the same for Solo the previous year.
@TJamie50298@ColtonOgburn No, it's both. They absolutely believe it, and they HAVE to in order to cope. They've made hating this movie their whole personality, so they need to rationalize if things don't go the way they want.
@ZeGrandPumpkin @ColtonOgburn If they didn't think they could compete with Marvel, why would they even bother making DC movies in the first place? And Superman and Batman are arguably the most popular superheroes of all time. Why would they think they couldn't complete?
@Dough_boy91@Schneider_Stv@ColtonOgburn If a studio recuts a director's movie is because they think it isn't good and are trying to improve it, not because they want to screw over the director and deliberately lose money.
@SchmitWhitacker@nypost I don't agree with his statement, but he stayed mostly behind the scenes of the Monty Python stuff and worked on the interstitial animation.
@hoorayforeric@CBM_Cringe What's hilarious is that they dismiss the Rotten Tomatoes scores as being from "paid reviews and shills," but if they'd been negative, they'd be saying, "See? We told you it would suck!"
@vinny_@SCMike78@esjesjesj Of course not. So many people like him are terrified of big cities because conservative propaganda has told them they'll get mugged and killed the second they enter the city limits.
@chefben91@howellsacto@esjesjesj Yeah, but the point is that, in a rural area, one person/family can own multiple acres. An equal sized area in NYC can hold a hell of a lot more people.
@JohnSte67367950@Dope_Majesty@lil_vettee@CBM_Cringe "Doesn't even learn her lessons..."
You do realize that the full season hasn't even come out yet and that her character arc will most likely continue over the next few episodes, right?
