@georgebsocial The sad truth is that demand for games DOES have a ceiling. Buying one game means skipping dozens of others. How many games will suffer when GTA 6 arrives? Plus, games have to compete with anything else people spend money on.
I think any creative field is at risk like this.
@MCFixer@MXAMOfficial@IGN It's hard to watch a favorite brand completely fumble the bag, especially because it is backed by a big company, and owns some of gaming's biggest IPs.
@AlienLaser66@MancusiNathan@Fame_0007 That was a big plot convenience, I know, but it didn't bother me really. I didn't want to over analyze it too much. If I did that with every movie, I wouldn't enjoy anything.
@firstadopter Nobody gives a shit if you were right or wrong. Because not you or anyone else was changing what XBOX themselves had chosen to do. This is a company problem that was created by their own employees.
@lesbiantooth Ignoring the choice of song, the use of pop and rock music for needle drops is getting tired. They should've used original or remixed orchestral music like Superman did.
@JBishie With Asha in charge the veil has been removed, and we are seeing how bad the situation at XBOX had become.
But cutting loose the bad investments is a different challenge to taking what remains and turning the situation into a positive and profitable future
@FuuTop1 The biggest IPs are multiplatform. XBOX should get by with a handful of exclusive IPs - they don't need 20 of them. I'd rather they streamline their IP library, then fund the hell out of them BUT hold them accountable to results, too.
@nick_harrow@popbuzzz_ Maybe. But Steve was a main character in the first movie, and people loved it. He was a side character in the second movie, and it got a lot of hate, especially with how he was treated.
@FuuTop1 Grounded was great. Haven't played Grounded 2 yet. Avowed was decent. I think it needed more time to cook. The original vision in the trailer was better than the final result.
Obsidian can cook. They'd be stupid to let them go.
@nick_harrow@popbuzzz_ I liked the first one, too. But he was a big part of the movie and I like his character. He was as big a reason that the movie was good, it wasn't just Wonder Woman.
@SylaannK@Vakkyr@PigeonGoGaming We can't say they haven't tried - we don't know. They've been confronted by the sunk cost fallacy. And, being a public company, they must show an uptick in the top and bottom line.
It sucks, but they had ample time to make it work and they couldn't.
If @asha_shar is going to gut @XBOX to remove a lot of studio, staff, and IPs, you would hope - in the aftermath - the highest value IPs that stay are well funded and the studios held accountable for results.
XBOX fans are probably one more setback away from switching platforms
