Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
I mean to be honest the actual games are not far removed from this. Long gone are the days of the slower, more methodical gameplay of DeS-DS2.
Bloodborne worked because (1) its flashy bosses were relatively tame by current standards and (2) dodging, parries, and attacks (particularly dash attacks) all worked in a way to keep the flow of combat smooth.
Trying to port Bloodborne’s enemy design into Dark Souls with DS3 is where the trouble began. Without the mobility offered to the player in BB, fights tend to become a waiting game rather than a dance. This mod is just the natural evolution of FromSoft’s current design direction.
I experienced something similar when I converted to Catholicism. I converted as an atheist, but my family are all evangelical, so in one sense they were happy that I was pursuing Christ in some way, but they were clearly unhappy with the direction and it’s remained a sore spot. I’ve gone from being a black sheep to a slightly more accepted black sheep. A grey sheep I suppose.
The problem is that the Protestant churches are all inherently defined, in one way or another, by their opposition to the Catholic Church (hence the protestation moniker). So there’s a lot more hard feelings in one direction than the other. Catholics tend to look at Protestants as misguided brethren, missing out on “the fullness of the faith.” Whereas Protestants tend to look at Catholics as pharisaical idolators, only two steps removed from pagans.
Forcibly draft men to die for their country and no one bats an eye
Suggest that women have children for their country and suddenly everyone starts freaking out
We can force men to die, but can't even ask women to become mothers
Okay, having seen the film, it’s not a bad film. Definitely not 4/10 or whatever critics are giving it. It’s good, not great, wholesome fun, on par with the first film. I’d give it 7/10.
My biggest criticism is that it bears only superficial resemblance to the actual Super Mario Galaxy game. Rosalina features very little in it, and the changes to her character and the overall plot strip it of the somber and reflective tone of the game. There’s a major change to her origin story as well that is just wholly inferior to the story presented in Galaxy. They wanted to play with familial themes in this film, since motherhood, death, and rebirth feature so heavily in the Galaxy game, but the film does so haphazardly, in a rushed and forced way that doesn’t really land.
Apart from that, the film is fun and funny. The animation of Illumination is still gorgeous. Your children will love it. It’s completely worth the price of admission.
The film has two minor bonus scenes, one mid-credits, and one post-credits, so stick around when you go see it.
