Federation's state council today launched a new section of the website, Deputy President Amber Flohm said 'This one-stop shop for our members delivers access to all new Award measures with links to agreed communications and entitlements, working conditions and everything our members need to know on teachers' work, health and safety.'
As we get ready to kick off this year’s Annual Confernce, Deputy President @AFlohm penned an opinion piece for today’s Illawarra Mercury. It comes with a message for the NSW government, “NSW teachers deserve safety at work and a safety net when they're harmed. The question is whether the NSW Government will listen and act. Our teachers - and our students - deserve better”
"Teachers have become far more skilled at determining the needs of each student and the teaching and learning strategies that will help them succeed, but this is time consuming and highly specialised work."
This is why we need smaller class sizes and more release time to meet the learning and behaviour needs of all students. NSWTF President @henryrajendra speaking on 2SM, 1 July 2025.
"Time is running out. These are urgent matters that the profession is calling out for." - @henryrajendra President of NSW Teachers Federation on 2GB Radio, June 26 2025.
The NSW Government needs to do more to reduce the resignations and retirements from the NSW public school system.
Two extra hours of release time per week and a reduction in class sizes would make teaching in the NSW public school system more attractive.
Talent galore at the @NSWEducation South Coast Dance Festival last night! The students were at their artistic and entertaining best. Shout out to all the teachers directly/indirectly involved for making it come alive.
Families must be proud. Delighted to be there with my family.

“Unions, legal and medical experts have strongly criticised the government’s attempts to curtail claims for psychological injury, warning that a 30% threshold would make it virtually impossible for people to make claims.”

Great discussions at this afternoon’s SITA meeting. Hearing from Federation President Henry Rajendra and Member for Whitlam Carol Berry. And a very colourful cake representing hugely significant events for Public Education @TeachersFed
“While teachers knew the importance of music education, there was an “enormous fear” to dive into the subject, compounded by a lack of access to specialised music teaching resources.”👇🏾
Our state Council heard a report on Treasurer Mookhey’s unfair & dangerous proposed changes to Workers’ Compensation. It'll have a catastrophic impact on members’ experiencing mental health injuries at work Teachers stand in solidarity against the proposals #WorkersUnited@AFlohm
Treasurer @dmookheyMLC might have a short memory, but we don't. Today Deputy President @Aflohm joined @unionsnsw giving evidence to a Parliamentary Inquiry outlining why the Treasurer's proposed changes to the NSW workers' Compensation system will only make things worse.
We want to thank the hundreds of Federation members who gave their time and energy to our For Every Child and Rebuild With TAFE campaigns. Our collective actions sent a strong message. We showed that when teachers work together, we win. Read more: https://t.co/02m0c9euqp
