I, Too
BY LANGSTON HUGHES
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I’ll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,
“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.
Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—
I, too, am America.
@JetSetGent@Acyn Our society was never color blind. Racism was always just under the surface until Obama was elected. It is not the fault of Obama. The fault lies squarely on our society which has never gotten past the Civil Rights Act and its own racisim.

NONE of Trump's projects benefit ALL US citizens. I will never enter the ballroom, the Oval Office, or any of his other structures that exist on public grounds. The only person who benefits from all of his projects is Trump only.
Congratulations to my friend Fr. Bryan N. Massingale, who received the John Courtney Murray Award at this year's convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America, CTSA's highest accolade. He has spoken extensively on racism and LGBTQ people and was a keynote speaker at the @OutrchCatholic 2022 conference.
