I like model trains and big trains! I use digital and analogue trains. My train knowledge specialises in TFL and heritage lines. 🏎️ F1 occasionally #TMRGUK
The Great Western at Euston?! I joined @gwrhelp at @NetworkRailEUS today for a staff training run ahead of Paddington blockades (first: Nov 17th). A “Fun fact” is that in 1835, Euston was the original intended terminus for the old GWR: Padd was only chosen after it couldn’t agree lease terms; so the company struck out a new line to the Paddington canal basin, effectively abandoning the Euston route via Kensal Green. Ironic that the GWR is now being stopped from running to Paddington on many occasions in the next few years because of a work on a new line that runs from Euston… #RailwayHistoryGoesRoundAndRoundAndItAffectsMoreOfLifeTodayThanYouMightThink
Something very rare happened today - a GWR train arrived at Euston station.
It's a test service to ensure GWR can still carry passengers to/from London when Paddington has to close because of HS2 works at Old Oak Common.
