@metarix@verbaltachi@notthreadguy Getting harder and harder to enter the space. Half inevitable, half sad. The least established creators can do is try to lower barriers to entry for new creators. But at some point the market simply dictates what it wants
@CryptoToucher @Milanooo_@notthreadguy It’s a tough existence out here but hey that’s the game we’re playing. I’m grateful for my team and hope to enable new creators to enter the space in the future
@ralphenstein1@notthreadguy Right. Like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Basically need to have the perfect team to avoid selling your soul to the vulture caps
@verbaltachi@notthreadguy And I tottalllyyyy agree that the days of projects promising to deliver products after the fact are over. Product at launch is the bar, even if it’s an MVP. Too many empty promises
@CryptoToucher @Milanooo_@notthreadguy I’m all for competition — business is a sport after all. But at some point, the market demanding free mint and no royalties makes it almost too difficult for new creators to enter the space
@CryptoToucher @Milanooo_@notthreadguy Like at this point you need in house dev, in house art, enough access to equity free capital to cover operating costs (games for thousands of people don’t cost 0 money to host, ya know), and really , total self reliance.
@CryptoToucher @Milanooo_@notthreadguy Idk about terrible but def trending towards a place that only allows teams with a very specific set of conditions to succeed, which I think adds a huge barrier to entry to a space that is so cool because of the lack of barriers!!
@duarchieC@mikesnft @GriffdenNFT And this is where the conondrum of what the market seems to be asking for…free mints + no royalties = much harder to create valid rev streams
@mikesnft @GriffdenNFT Some potential options we are playing with:
Paid access to an accompanying game & “marketplace” fees on an internally operated accessory market to change your nft’s stats
@PunkHot10 Honestly my good ser, I think this is how I feel at the end of the day. If business is a sport, customers are the referees. Top projects are probably going to have to innovate new non-royalty revenue streams to compete with other top projects
@jolanETH @notthreadguy As a founder, I see NFTs as a way to generate long term value for holders. I tend to have a bias towards web3 gaming over anything else in the space as well. There is def inherent value in a game people love to play…but is a 0% and a 4% royalty so different?
