I’ve long relied on CDC wastewater data to track COVID community spread and guide my precautions accordingly. For the past year, I used a simple iOS/macOS widget I wrote to help keep tabs. If you might find it useful, I finally shared it on the App Store: https://t.co/iKZ31mSr28
Favorite shell alias for #golang dev on Apple Silicon chips:
alias bgtest='GOMAXPROCS=`sysctl -n hw.perflevel1.logicalcpu` taskpolicy -b go test'
Runs tests on efficiency cores only, perfect for fuzz testing ("bgtest -fuzz FuzzFoo") in background without affecting normal work.
@emojitracker Update with good news, I see this on their page now, so perhaps they found a resolution: "Emojitracker is presently offline due to changes to the Twitter API. We hope to have the Emojitracker back running soon."
RIP @emojitracker? I no longer maintain it (sold it two years ago), but heard it stopped running. My guess is Twitter killed its elevated partner API access, I assume related to their new API pricing model: https://t.co/EV6N73veA3
10 years and 43 billion tweets, a good run. 💫
Only thing I want in @SlackHQ is to be able to casually type/insert a time inside a message in my local time, have it recognized/parsed/markedup, and automatically displayed in the local timezone for all recipients.
@katherinecodes@github @GitHubHelp Screenshot in case it's helpful. The UI here also makes it seem like the balance disappeared, adding to the potential confusion (but if you click through to the Stripe Express dashboard you can see it reflected there),
Weird. Received a one time sponsorship from @github as part of https://t.co/XLo95jT2ef for my OSS they use, but just discovered it was silently cancelled a month later?
(cc @GitHubHelp in case this is an error)
@katherinecodes@github @GitHubHelp Got it! That is definitely confusing (especially since the payout via Stripe seems to be processed at the same time, hence the "estimated next payout" balance on GitHub disappears, but the "last payout" still reflects as blank). Thank you for clarifying!
Quite pleased to see Stripe recommitting to the open-source ecosystem, with the public release of our previously internal documentation and content-authoring platform: https://t.co/YEYVwPPeR7
Not the *only* reason, but definitely one of the top 6, to come work with us. (p.s. we're looking for a new member of our eng leadership team focused on deploys, tooling, and infrastructure... DMs open.)
Stripe is partnering with Apple to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone: https://t.co/THtuND9EvQ.
(You can sign up to be notified when it's available over at https://t.co/DCFWV1KwAW.)
Looking for two more engineering managers to join my org at @stripe. Help manage diverse distributed systems on a diverse, distributed team. Empathetic & thoughtful leadership a must. One of the roles: https://t.co/NLiDgCW4vQ. DMs open if you want to discuss!
Big proponent of "slow recruiting" (building up authentic relationships over time) ever since @chaddickerson had carpool convos about it way back in the day.
It's a worthy investment. Yesterday I got to hire someone amazing who I've been "recruiting" for the past 11 years.
