I don’t believe in penalizing students for failing to turn in homework. Same for lateness, attendance, dress code, and even some behaviors such as sleeping in class. We don’t always know the whole story. Hold children accountable for what they can control.
@lizfvw@amymarr@NicholasFerroni A local district of mine just increased sub pay to $220 for regular subs & $250 for permanent subs.
But throwing student teachers into sub assignments feels like a way to scare off potential teachers by throwing them into it.
@_carolinehenry @municipal_curb@OnlineAlison He would not have matched with her if it wasn't for her setting her age range preference. While yes he was seeking out younger women, she too was seeking out older men.
First and foremost, enjoy being in the classroom. If there has been anything the 2020 school year has taught me it is to enjoy seeing facing and interacting. Keep insider nicknames with your studies so you and they have something to look forward to. #EnjoyTheRide
*New student enters class*
Mentor: "Hi (insert name here)! Welcome to our class! Do you want us to call you by (insert name here) or something else?"
Student: "Can you call me Speedwagon?"
Me:
1 in 5 teachers (20%) said they are likely to quit after this school year.
If that number is accurate, that means around 740,000 of the 3.7 million teachers will not be returning for 2021-2022 school year.
I'd have to say the 3 most important things Ss need to know about technology from the ISTE heading are:
1)Global Collaborator
2)Empowered Learner
3)Digital Citizen
Technology and the internet can be a brutal place. If we actively follow these three we can make it a better place
The #TrippleEs serve as a foundation as to what teaching with technology should be and do. If lessons are able to incorporate technology and check off at least two things from each E they will have a lesson that advances students learning and skills. #EDUC644
I had 2 students show up to class for *the first time* this year. In week 8.
Even though there's a mountain of learning to make up, I knew what the response had to be:
"Thank you for making the effort to get here today. I'm happy you're here."
@TexasMeow@RayyTheVillain@seanjallday2 @amandabarbaa 1. You asked for the "American version" and it was provided.
2. If you watch the video she's getting across the road, stops to wave her sign, then gets ran over. While it's not the smartest thing to do his actions were not right or justified.
3. This is nowhere close to a riot
One easy step to reduce homework is to stop calling it homework, call it independent practice. Independent practice is essential, location is not! #ditchHW https://t.co/IOH8W3qU6s
