@NMEyay I never played any growing up. Someone recommended me Emerald. I couldn’t get into it. I tried one of the more recent ones on switch and I think it’s the lack of exciting story elements. The gameplay loop I don’t mind. I liked ni no kuni.

@eBloodyCandy I know when TMR did NESMania he had to deal with that as well. Some games he had some kind of score to shoot for. Not sure how he came up with the target though. So this is only a partially useful answer.
