Teaching kids what proper behaviors are, having them repair the harm, and building them up causes long-term change.

Yes!!! I love this. Kids need to read based on interest and it will provide meaningful opportunities to give real and focused feedback on strategies to make them stronger readers. Books can be magical, but only if the reader is excited to read it.
Last fall, I wrote a @nerdybookclub post about the misuse of leveling systems when matching kids w/ books. After some online conversations this morning, I’m reposting it. https://t.co/DzeyjG7at1
Teachers: Please think about PD you attended that was boring. Now think about one that was exciting and fun, one where you laughed and had hands on activities. Which one did you learn the most from? Now think about your classroom and students. Anything you should change?
