Busill Jones Primary has had a difficult past, Ofsted have not rated it ‘good’ since 2008. I was conscious of this when appointed last year and am determined to break this cycle. This lovely report describes our hive beautifully (the overall RI doesn’t!)

@LauraFMcConnell @TeachLeadAAli @KyrstieStubbs I agree, a written report is often needed. I’m interested in exploring the idea of a video though and don’t feel it’s necessarily a gimmick, lots of our parents struggle to read. There must be a way to satisfy both without increasing teacher workload (cue new ADHD hyperfocus!)

@Positivteacha This really resonates with me. First in family to go, undiagnosed neurodivergent, huge imposter syndrome etc.
I try not to regret it too much as it’s part of what drives me to improve this (and improve access to alternatives) for young people. It was was a dreadful time though!

@PaulGarvey4 Just the opposite in my recent experience. An extremely rigorous and rightly challenging inspection with a team who were supportive, collaborative and understanding of context. My 10th inspection & 2nd as Head under this framework, both of which have been similarly collaborative

Today's poverty stats from the DWP are horrendous.

4.3 million children in relative poverty - the highest ever
3.6 million children in absolute poverty - up 300k

2.2 million children living in "food insecure" households
820k children living in households that use foodbanks
