I’ve bought so many helpful courses on @udemy but just opened the app to find ads interrupting the content now. On a course that I’ve already paid for. AYFKM?
What are we using for training now?
This is #stl in March 2026.
The tornado was in May 2025.
I’m not making any statements here. I’m just sharing hastily-snapped photos. These are homes. Others were so much worse.
Also, for context: I reinstalled this godforsaken app just to post that letter. It was perhaps the single most insulting piece of political mail I’ve ever received, and that’s saying something-I lived in KY during Mitch McConnell’s heyday.
Came home to this load of horse 💩in my mailbox, courtesy of @WesleyBell4MO .
I can’t even describe the insanity of 2025. Bell had a chance to at least make a statement by voting to impeach. Instead we get a toothless bill, word salad, & a giant GFY to STL. We’re on our own.
My second Windows (brand name) laptop died today after 5.5 months. Reviving it was a nightmare & now it doesn’t recognize the HDMI or DP ports. This goes far beyond planned obsolescence. Every MacBook I’ve owned has lasted years and years. I don’t get it. What’s the difference?!
hey @STLMetro -your 7013 7013 damn near took out a couple of cars by running a red light from Chouteau south onto Jefferson. That wasn’t fun and it’s happening more frequently. How are you planning to make your existing routes safe before you add another bus line?
I guess we’re doing $175 pre-authorizations @QuikTrip now.
Yes, it fixed itself. But not everyone can float that much for a fuel purchase for any length of time. Just…wow.
I’d love to hear the justification for this, QT.
even better: @moleskine doesn’t actually have a membership site for templates as promised, but at least it’s fountain pen-friend….uh…oh. Well, that’s embarrassing.
@cryptodeadline@moleskine I should have checked reddit first. Sounds like it’s a years-long problem at this point, and I probably should have bought a Leuchtturm.
Hey, @PaycorInc why would you suddenly use my formal name with the new "homepage improvements?" It's not used anywhere else on your site (w2 only) and there are very, very good reasons I use a nickname. Can't seem to change it in settings. What's the purpose of this?
Today is @publiceyestl's birthday. To celebrate, he would appreciate both more and less October baseball, hear more quiet, resolute dissent and loud, happy children, see more neighbors chatting while walking well-behaved dogs, cats and parrots, and encounter Tiny Libraries daily.
Just had the distinct pleasure of @ATT@ATTHelp telling me that my zip code was not affected by the recent severe weather. Like sir, my chimney is on the sidewalk (again.) I haven't had consistent power for days. It has been a week of sheer hell. Maybe it's time to switch.
@metaauthor I would think that if the dispatcher had questions, they would ask. Instead, they responded affirmatively. Also, your profile pic is excellent.
"You've got the siren?" when uttered by the director of CEMA to a dispatcher is not ambiguous. If the dispatcher did not understand that they were being told to activate the siren, they should have asked clarifying questions like "should I activate it?"
Sarah Russell has been with CEMA for much longer than "former Mayor Jones Administration." There are conflicting reports regarding the sirens, frequencies, and the budget given to CEMA. But a quick perusal of my texts, Nextdoor & socials tells me that CEMA was sounding alarms.
This is St. Louis City, Emergency Management Director Sarah Russell. Mayor Cara Spencer placed her on leave, pending a full investigation into why the sirens didn't work in warning of approaching tornado that touched down in North St. Louis.
Sara Russell is a holdover from the former Mayor Jones Administration. The sirens haven't been working for some time. What happened to the millions of dollars St. Louis City received from the Rams settlement? This woman had ONE job to make sure that the citizens of St. Louis City is prepared for any disaster.
THEY WEREN'T! SARAH, IS IT? YOU HAD ONE JOB!
The St. Louis City Fire Department will for now run CEMA. Until a FULL investigation is conducted by city and state officials. Some folks on social media pages and platforms are blaming President Trump and DOGE for the siren failure. The man has been in office for 5 MONTHS! This goes back 4 years, and guess WHO was President? WHO was their mayor?
The outgoing Mayor Tashria Jones, who ran the city for 4 years screwed the pooch. And Ms. Russell ignored the fact that sirens weren't up to par.
*I heard that FEMA should be in St. Louis to start the claim process.*
