Some fantastic conversations on the go this afternoon at our Year 12 ‘Meet The Professionals’ careers event! Thanks to all our volunteers for giving up their time today.
It’s been an emotional week for Team Formby High, watching ‘Anne’ on @itv but we are so proud of #AnneWilliams and her tireless campaigning for justice. #KevinWilliams remains in the memories and hearts of everyone (past & present) here at school.
@MrErsk_History I’d be happy to send something across that I use but I only teach component 2… so possibly wouldn’t cover everything you’re after. I do have a summer documentaries one that covers the whole course too.
@historysjm The Western Approaches and the Museum of Liverpool. I’d also suggest seeing if you can go on one of Laurence Westgaph’s history of slavery walking tours. Plus the cathedrals and hope street are always worth a visit!
@MsAylingHist I would agree. Being an examiner has been the best CPD for the A Levels paper I teach. I’ll send over a mix of examples I have at that level in case they can be of help.
Just finished @CoatesSally Headstrong. What a fantastic book. Fuelling excitement and enthusiasm for the job we do. It has challenged my thinking, inspired new ideas, reinforced key values and broadened my knowledge of school leadership! A brilliant and reflective read 👏
@MsAylingHist Yeah I remember it being a really insightful discussion of what was covered in the book. Hopefully you’ll be able to find it online. If I come across it (may have it somewhere) I’ll send over.
@MsAylingHist There is a book called The Lavender Scare which is relatively short and might be worth a look? Not sure if it’ll be exactly what you’re after but an interesting read. I think the author did a good interview about the book which by itself might be useful!
