Proud of @abreezeclayton today for defeating a nationwide swing to right in her down ballot races. People doubted her and she held it the fuck down and won the governors seat, the AGs office, and broke a supermajority in the state legislature.
I still can’t believe it:
🚨 We had **50k people** contribute to our Attorney General campaign. That’s incredible. Thank you.
That's a total of 127k donations with 80% of them under $100.
You believed in this campaign, and you powered it.
Now let's bring it home. Go vote! 🇺🇸
This race is about all of our state’s children. Every one of them deserves access to an excellent public education.
As the only experienced candidate, I will advocate for raising teacher pay & ensuring academic excellence — for Brooks & every child across North Carolina.

When I was a kid, kids frequently mispronounced my name, Majid.
It was only 5 letters, 2 syllables, and I'd already told them how to pronounce it. "Ma-jeed." You'd have to be a complete moron to struggle with that.
For most, that was back in the 70s, when people were not yet too familiar with unique ethnic names. But there were bullies who did it intentionally, just to fuck with me.
Some kids can be the meanest people on Earth.
It triggered me so badly, I started telling kids to call me Mike. But my grandmother heard that, and she told me I had a beautiful name.
It is one of God's names, she said, and it means "Glorious." She told me to never let anyone call me anything other than my name. If they can't pronounce it correctly, they don't deserve my attention.
Fast forward to today: A guy who claims to have the best brain, who says he's a genius, pretends that he can't pronounce a six-letter, three syllable name "Kamala."
It's pronounced "Comma-La."
You KNOW he's heard this already. But that jackass is intentionally mispronouncing her name. Over and over again. Like a mean kid.
I wonder how many people out there have ethnic-sounding names, who had to deal with bullies making them a punchline, their whole lives?
I wonder if they think about that, every time he deliberately mispronounces her name, to make her sound more "other." To disrespect her and try to devalue her as a person.
How many MILLIONS of people have a name like that? Maybe they shouldn't vote for him because of all the other reasons: adjudicated rapist, convicted felon, he's old as fuck, he's a moron, most of his own cabinet doesn't support him.
At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what he calls Kamala Harris.
By this time next week, he can call her "Madam President."
Our schools must be inclusive & welcoming to all students. Public education serves everyone.
My opponent’s comments are hateful. It’s the opposite of inclusivity; it’s bullying.
There’s no place for a bully in the NC Department of Public Instruction.

The strategy is familiar and predictable by now. A pile of outrageous statements - all to ensure we spend the next days talking about him, not about you and not about how Kamala Harris will make life more affordable and restore the right to choose that he took away. It’s bait.
Liz Cheney: When you have the AG of Texas suing to get access to the medical records of women who sought abortions, and Trump won't even release his own medical records, this brings many pro life & pro choice women support VP Harris
Jeff Bezos being too afraid of Trump to allow the Post to endorse Kamala is probably a better argument for how dangerous Trump is than anything the Post's editorial board would've written.
So, sitting in #LSBC24 for 2nd full day & every time I see/hear "low risk of recurrence over 10 years," I want to shout "10 YEARS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MANY OF US WHO ARE DIAGNOSED BEFORE we are 40 yrs old."
Okay, just needed to get that out.

I have been living with ALS for over seven years. In that time, ALS has taken a lot from me. There was no way I would allow it to take away my vote in the election. If I can vote, what is your reason for not voting? 💙💙
