@NJM71 In the 80's there was high youth unemployment and the government encouraged people in their late 50's to retire early on order to give jobs to the young
@KirstieMAllsopp@cremieuxrecueil Homes are worth what people can pay. In the 60's you could only get 3 x one salary and .5 x a second salary, after saving the deposit in a Building Society for months/years. Now you get more than 3 times 2 salaries.
@slamellie@AnthonyAinsdale It rained all winter in the SE and was far wetter than average. Essex is drier but does not run out of water because they have created systems to cope with hot, dry summers This weather is a common pattern now so the Water Boards should plan for it
@mary_baker70334@DailyMail Capital gains is not paid on your home and Council taxes in London are often lower than elsewhere. Stamp duty is high as prices are high and Service charges are a way of companies making a lot of money
@KirstieMAllsopp@LeShuttle@Eurostar They could open up Ebbsfleet and Ashford and encourage people to use them. There is masses of space at Ebbsfllet and itโs accessible by Javelin, as well as having large car parks.
Plans to transfer hundreds of NHS 'bank' staff from Bath, Salisbury, and Swindon to private firm Pulse this August are being called "unacceptable".

@dave43law Her case, and Zacโs, show us that the rules are so complicated now that it is very easy to get things wrong. We need to make these rules clearer and simpler to understand.
@C_Fitz_ Time and time again we are told that something is to be announced, but time and time again either it doesnโt happen or the details are different. Certain journalists just enjoy creating drama
@AnnemariePaul9@jessicaelgot Disappointed in both of them. They have sunk in my estimation. With everything going on in this world the last thing we need is Labour playing at student politics
With a Middle East peace still not in sight and the world economy taking a big hit this is the time for careful UK economic stewardship not political instability. A united government is needed more than ever to get family finances and public services through these uncertain times! I say strongly to colleagues letโs get on with the job!
@sharrond62 My appointments come by email and the NHS app. Why is this not done everywhere? I would add that several people I know have had appointments a couple of weeks after referral, much to their surprise.
