Reflect: I found this resource to be very helpful with exploring ideas and getting to know the perspective of others! It was also really fun! 🥳 #tch380chat
A6: She is on instagram, but I LOVE @/fivefootoneteacher. She is a secondary ELA educator that talks about trauma and mental health in regards to teaching! Also, Real Rap with Reynolds on Youtube talks about diverse education practices and general teaching tips! #tch380chat
I love the idea of setting a purpose for using a specific social media platform. I think that this practice could help us not get lost in the weeds of everything that is shared on a given platform- because there is a LOT! #tch380chat
A5. Know your purpose for using a specific platform. I found I use Twitter to build my #PLN, LinkedIn to connect and learn (also have found projects there), Instagram for promotions and fun. They are different so plan wisely how each platform can support your goals. #tch380chat
A5: I've learned that I don't need to entertain everyone else's opinions. I can be open to new ideas without having to agree with or entertain ideas that conflict with my values. #tch380chat
@MsTejada22 I agree with you! While it can be an avenue to explore new ideas, it could also potentially limit us from exploring some of our own creative ideas in our classroom from fear of judgement!
A4: Honestly, I think that the biggest challenge for me will be insecurity! I could see myself getting intimidated by the great ideas of everyone else! However, I know that teaching & PD is about having a growth mindset, so I will do my best to have that! #tch380chat
A3: Social media can be a useful tool to build a diverse PLN! It is a great opportunity to meet others from different backgrounds who can support your professional & personal growth as an educator! #tch380chat
@AdamsMadams40 Molly!! I set time limits on my apps, and also usually delete TikTok for a couple weeks at a time 😂 I've been trying to read more to keep my mind off of it too
A2: I am pretty good with instagram, but I try not to get on social media too much for my own mental health! I think that it can be super useful, but it's also important to remember that it's often a highlight reel #tch380chat
A1: Howdy!! My name is Zoie (she/her) & I am an undergrad student studying Secondary Ed & English!!
Potato Preference: Breakfast potatoes with sour cream and green onions, of course! #tch380chat
