@kimturner70@senresourceblog As a HT my schools working practices have changed to include all despite government - surely we should be able to expect policy to reflect truly inclusive practice, ethically and morally?
@senresourceblog This resonates so clearly - I whole heartedly support the ‘Plea for Change’ to a truly inclusive and meaningful education system that celebrates and develops ALL children.
This quote (from an Ofsted report) shows such poor understanding of how young children learn. Children do not need their play to be planned for them by adults - and in fact, one of the key executive function skills they are practicing through play is planning their time. Making choices. Self-control rather than being controlled. Adults stifle that opportunity for learning when they step in and take over.
It is profoundly misguided to remove that from them in the name of making play more ‘productive’.
'The Newsom report of 1963 exposed the neglect of ‘half our future’. We’ve now reduced that to a ‘forgotten third’. Is that the extent of our national schooling success over 60 years?'

@mrlev @TeacherDevTrust @GarethConyard Thanks Ben, I took so much from what you said. There’s definitely going to be more intentional disruption from now on!
@dave_mcpartlin A brilliant blog with so many insightful comments. It’s the change to a constructive and progressive inspectorate that is needed - schools intuitively want to improve, however good they are, so that they are serving their children and communities as well as they possibly can.
