The Government was right to identify school readiness as an urgent priority in today's PM's speech.

We are encouraged by their commitment to raise the number of children who are ready to start school from 67% to 75%. Physical activity, and the role it plays in cognitive, social, emotional and physical development must be central to delivering this ambition.

On World Children’s Day our National School Sport Champion @Mo_Farah brought together a series of leading British Olympians and Paralympians to call on the Government to increase physical activity levels in early years, by ensuring early years providers are able to support physical development so all children are healthy movers before starting school.
