🇵🇸 🏃♂️ After a three-year pause due to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Palestinians gathered along Gaza’s Al-Rashid Street — the main coastal road running north to south along the Mediterranean Sea — for the Palestine Marathon on Thursday.
Held simultaneously in Gaza and the West Bank, the event drew more than 2,500 runners in Gaza alone, including amputees and some 350 children.
Dina Ismail of Gaza’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs told Drop Site that one of the marathon’s main goals was to highlight Israeli restrictions on Palestinian freedom of movement across the occupied territories and call on the international community to uphold Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which guarantees the right to freedom of movement.
🎥 Filmed for Drop Site by @AbdSabbah91 in Gaza.
Today, more than 2,600 Palestinians ran in Gaza — including amputees — and 11,000 in Bethlehem in the West Bank, including 1,000 foreign runners, as part of the 10th Palestine International Marathon.

TYPICAL: All the Amazon reviews for my book from VERIFIED PURCHASERS are 5-star, and every negative review, like the one below, comes from a troll who didn't read it. Go figure!
If you bought a copy of my Wumao Handbook, please help me by writing an honest review on Amazon.
@Jingjing_Li Good to see! China is, in my opinion, one of the most exciting tourist destinations in the world! Friendly locals, convenient, affordable, safe with incredible sights.
Four years ago today I received my advance reader copy of Light in Gaza. Little did I know then that this anthology would be one of the last works to capture stories and experiences from and about Gaza before the genocide. Little did I know that Refaat's words in it would be among his last in writing. Or that this work, which began as a humble attempt to push for a conversation on Gaza against the backdrop of immense forgetfulness and erasure, would become a key reference for so many. I'm honored to have worked on it, and I'm eternally grateful to @haymarketbooks, the co-editors, the authors, and everyone who helped make it a reality. I am glad that +972 gave me the opportunity to speak to an Israeli public.
Despite the horror and darkness, the world is changing: impunity won’t last forever.

BREAKING: A new UN report finds that Israel’s assault on Gaza - with the destruction of health care, education, infrastructure, even the banking system - has erased 69 years of human development, marking the worst economic collapse ever recorded.
This is not war: it is genocide.
