My mission is to lead a school building to prepare students for the next stage of their lives by demonstrating the core values of doing right by kids everyday.
Leaders must always ask, "What actions can I take that will have the biggest impact on our organization?"
Once identified, priorities should be measured and shared for the purpose of accountability.
2023-2024 PRIORITIES:
1) meet with direct reports to build relationships
2) visit buildings to understand employee experiences
TOTALS THRU MARCH:
1:1 Meetings: 280
Building Visits: 182
I graduated from a small town in Southern Iowa. Join me in advocating to Governor Reynolds and legislators that AEAs are needed for ALL kids in ALL schools. No changes needed! @KimReynoldsIA
Probably one of the greatest compliments I've gotten all year. There is a kid I've got. Zero buy-in most of the year. Parent was at check-in today and said she looked forward to my assignments when we were on "break" and she would do those first! Totally, made my day!
@Jacquelyn_R_B We're freezing salaries (no steps for next year), any spending for summer is gone so no updated textbooks since 2000 as I was expecting, no touch up paint in classrooms, nothing. Even threatened by saying might have to cut teachers but we're at legal limit of class size already.
Great clip from Steve Carell here, great advice for sports as well!
“Part of what was so much fun about it was everyone in the cast was rooting for everybody else. People would step back when it was time for other people to shine and celebrate it”
@ClearlyCrystal When the general public thinks of PE, what do they immediately envision? Yep, dodgeball. Since I'm worked in my current district, I feel like I've been constantly "dodging" but now I have an opportunity to go on the offensive and take a job I would truly love.
@teachermommy333 @stumpteacher Exactly. There is no time for my family anymore between grading, planning, differentiating instruction, accommodating for IEP/504s all while teaching writing (which some kids can't do according to their IEP)... Not fair to me or my family.
The telltale sign of a Championship Culture is how they handle team conflict. Championship Cultures always put their common goal above team conflict. Corrosive Cultures get consumed by the conflict and drama and lose sight of their common goal. #CultureWins
“You get what you want when you do everything it takes for as long as it takes to get it. Nothing less gets you there. Most won’t argue that statement, but most won’t work at that standard. Be the exception, not the norm.” @briankight#DailyDiscipline
