What gives me real climate anxiety:
Not that we're doomed to fail, but that the options for success are far more accessible, just and beneficial than we realise
And that we'll let it slip past anyway because it's easy for incumbents to spread lies and protecting profits.
@DouglasWalton99@jeffreysms@DonovanEnergy The City of Cincinnati had done a great job of using City owned buildings as solar power plants. We need the private sector to lean in and follow the City’s example.
@DouglasWalton99@jeffreysms@DonovanEnergy We have plenty of opportunities for solar in our region if we just look at rooftops of warehouses, schools, the convention center, etc. FPV (floating photovoltaics) work great if you are land constrained but have significant cost premiums.
It dawned on me this morning, as I scrolled, that not everyone's time line may be as specific as mine is. Climate aware people will not be surprised at this🧵but those who have been ignoring it, denying it, or thinking it won't happen here, or soon.
It is.

Looking forward to further indictments, including that of a former PUCO chair as I have a newfound appreciation for my office being located next to the Federal Courthouse.
This afternoon I got to see the aftermath of HB6 as the former Ohio Speaker of the House was led away in cuffs to spend the next 20 years in Federal custody.
After HB6 was passed and signed, the rationale for the bad energy policy became clear and Ohioans will be paying for the greed of First Energy and a group of politicians.
