Broke as you could be out of college, 2007-2008 moved to start a business, failed. Ski bum for a year. Server for a year. Then went and roughnecked for two years in North Dakota. Came home took a crappy job, passed first CFA exam, never looked back. Bought a business in 2019
@Kellblog@Blacklane To be fair the reason they probably do that is the driver will call you and ask you to cancel the ride and then they will do it for cheaper off app. Sounds great to most they just forget the insurance/liability they waved away to save $10.
I’m at $4 and it’s great. Of course I built it myself but it can be done. If you’re looking for something let me know I’m about to significantly reduce my staff but if I can keep them working it would be great and this would be without margin. As I said just want to keep them working.
@Jason Actually built something for this that you might be interested in checking out. If you shoot me a dm I would love to show you what my team built.
@SkolCapital 8 months behind but welcome. Keep in mind you know what to look at and assumptions that should be made. New analysts are screwed and will have a hard time learning what they should be looking for…
@JaredDHardin Doing exactly what you should be doing. How do you think good opportunities happen? You speak to business owners daily, they have all thought about selling. Make sure they know you are always looking. Opportunities will arise that others will never see.
@JoelDreessen@BianchiWeather To be fair he did attribute it to climate change not to global warming or man made climate change. Now what does he mean by climate change well that’s a different question. Part of the issue with the new reframing I suppose but makes for an easy gotcha.
2nd everyone loves to talk about free market competition. This is not free market competition nearly all of these products are highly subsidized by the Chinese government we aren’t comparing apples to apples even remotely. This is the whole reason we find ourselves in situation we are in
@moseskagan@urbanistvc You don’t let any in. Walk with me for a second. You obviously understand better than most but many don’t realize our auto companies are a part of the war machine with requirements to transfer their entire production to US military production at a speed that few understand.
@SecretCFO I have been trying to explain this to my finance friends. If you give it detailed instructions on what you want make sure it doesn't make any assumptions without asking you first. You can pretty much one shot a model in 10-15 minutes. Blew my mind.
@mountainwesttax Has also just slowed the entire platform down. Just matching transactions takes twice as long😵 No ai doesn’t understand that I bulk uploaded checks and two of those checks had the same check#🤬
@pinpulleddrmf Secret: you tell them you drank too much the night before and it helps with the heartburn. Changed a lot of oilfield guys minds with that one… and it does work.
@brandonadixon Big fan of Samsara. Have it in over 60 vehicles. Also ties into our fleet management software which enables us to track vehicle mileage in real time so we don’t miss routine maintenance. We are also alerted if we have any engine codes popping up. Agree on VC.
@mrfboyer EMT or paramedic level? Paramedic level I definitely agree, EMT maybe $35🤷♂️. Other thing is they bring their own dogs for avalanches that should be $5-$10 not $1/ hour. They can also ski in anything, big difference from a liftie. Nevertheless should be a significant difference.
