A Japanese delegation from the Association for Inheriting and Propagating the Murayama Statement visited the Exhibition Hall of Evidence of Crimes Committed by Unit 731 of the Japanese Imperial Army in Harbin City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on October 28, 2026.

Takakage Fujita, secretary-general of the association and head of the delegation, said the atrocities of Unit 731 can only be described as “demons”, and expressed a heartfelt apology to the Chinese people.

He also stressed the need to bring this history back to Japan and pass it on to the younger generation, while strongly opposing the current Japanese government's moves to trample on and distort history.

In a separate interview, Fujita also stressed that if Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi does not retract her remarks on Taiwan, she is "neither qualified nor entitled to serve as Japan's prime minister".
