Making sure students have the proper understanding of the text can be difficult. We need to tap into their interest so that they get a emotional connecting to the text, but also understand the nature of the message. #CSUSMMIddleLevel27

Students need to see that @Wikipedia is more than just a reference source. They need to see that "each change is debated in arguments open to anyone’s inspection." It provides students with an example of the process and importance of thoughtful discussions. #csusmmiddlelevel27

I plan to incorporate many technological aspects in my classroom. I think if we can adapt to students interests (phones, computers, etc.) they will be more likely to be engaged and interested. With math, using @GetKahoot or other programs will help greatly. #csusmmiddlelevel27

I think teachers need to focus on making sure students are reading at the correct level. This is why doing our reading/site word study is so important. Students don't get tested often enough to keep track of their appropriate level. #csusmmiddlelevel27

Grading is essential in student learning. Giving them accurate, important, a thoughtful feedback will allow them to make the correction they need to make to further their education. Get creative when grading. Find a fun way to allow students to turn things in. #csusmmiddlelevel27

When it comes to disciplinary-reading, it's important for students to understand what to look for and what to learn. For example, if they are reading about graphs, they need to know what important information they need to know. #CSUSMMiddleLevel27

When we first start to read we are so caught up on knowing each word and reading it correctly that we forget to the comprehension part. Asking critical questions is where the focus needs to be. #CSUSMMiddleLevel27

I think with the advances in education and technology, we need a better way of execution. Students are so obsessed with technology, so if we can develop lessons that tap into their interests we can allow each student to succeed. #CSUSMMiddleLevel27

We need to teach reading in math the same way we teach reading literature. Math is a language in it's own, so its crucial that students become just as absorbed as they get with characters in a novels. #CSUSMMiddleLevel27

Telling students that they have done a "Good Job" when they didn't receive full credit is not going to make them a better student/reader. We must provide accurate, thoughtful feedback in order to aid students on correct reading/studying habits. #csusmmiddlelevel27
