In case you didn't know, all of the allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse, harassment, and "frat boy culture" was entirely fake and the state of California even admitted that there was no evidence substantiating any of the claims.
The ENTIRE controversy around Blizzard was setup by California to force the company to stop hiring White men using MeToo allegations to strong arm them.
Some of these accusations were so bizarre and insane that they included:
- Theft and consumption of breastmilk during work hours
- A "rape room" named after Bill Cosby
- Sexual harassment to the point of an employee ending her own life
All of these claims were essentially a theatre performance over the fact that ONLY 1-in-5 of Blizzard employees were women.
As a result, Blizzard agreed to pay roughly 18M in fines and setup HR hiring practices that would discriminate against White men.
Internal messages between California Civil Rights Divison officials showed that the entire thing was a ploy to "send a message to the industry" to literally ruin videogames.
It was SO FUCKING FAKE that Brack and Kotick literally PAID THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES TO STAGE A WALK OUT.
After Blizzard capitulated and announced it would discriminate in its hiring the state walked back from a billion dollar lawsuit to a 55M settlement and announced that all the allegations were false.
FFmpeg is moving to Rust 🦀
Our use of C and Assembly in FFmpeg has been an unacceptable violation of safety.
FFmpeg will be running 10x slower - but we're doing it for your safety.
All your videos will appear green - safety first, working software later.
We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). https://t.co/X27QJejNDt
@Wizards_DnD Stop being racist against whites and sexist against males. Fire anyone at your company who wants to “look through a critical lens”, got hired as part of some kind of diversity initiative, or can’t pronounce Gygax correctly.
The audience you tried to pander to only pirates PDFs.
How exactly do you think this is going to work when people have been giving you feedback for the last 20 years, but you've ignored them?
I've submitted my reply, but the chances you will actually read it and follow the advice there, as well as all of the replies here is pretty much 0%.
Who on planet Earth would want to talk to someone that does not listen? Most people have moved on. Others have made their own settings.
... ?!?
@Wizards_DnD You very obviously despise all the old school and classic D&D gamers. Open source all the TSR era stuff (2E and before) and lets us go our separate ways.
You cater to a small vocal subset of the hobby who are not interested in the hobby but injecting their soup of the day ideology into it. That’s why D&D has become such an absolute trainwreck: sanitized adventures that apologize for existing, ugly modern “art” that looks like it was drawn by committee to check boxes instead of the iconic classics, forced DEI characters that shatter immersion, rules bloated with nonsense instead of pure fun, and constant pandering that drove away the actual players who built this game.
On top of that, you actively vilify Gary Gygax and the original creators, the very legends whose genius gave us this hobby in the first place, erasing their names from products, retroactively labeling their work as “problematic,” and treating the game’s foundational history like some shameful secret that needs “fixing.” It’s not just tone-deaf; it’s outright disrespectful to the people who poured their souls into it so the rest of us could have decades of epic campaigns. All this does is alienate the core fanbase: the longtime players, the grognards, the families who grew up on the originals, and everyone who just wants unapologetic heroic fantasy without the lectures. This survey is just more theater, go back to basics, honor the roots.
Perhaps the most perverse consequence of age verification laws: many require advertising the age bracket of the user to the open web. Children will be known to be children even to those that would exploit that information without regard for any other "safety" law.
Today, I met with Colorado Senator Matt Ball, co-author of Colorado OS Age Attestation Bill SB26-051.
Sen. Ball suggested excluding open source software from the bill. This appears to be a real possibility.
Amendments are expected for the CA age attestation bill. It's my hope we can move fast enough to influence excluding open source in the CA bill amendments.
No illusions, it's an uphill battle, but we have an open door to advocate for the open source community.
Brain draining the world is a bad liberal idea. It’s like inviting all the adults in your neighborhood to move in with you while they leave their kids home alone to fend for themselves. Before you know it half the neighborhood will be on fire and the flames are licking your roof.
I have come to an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm @disney@Lucasfilm which I believe is the best outcome for all parties involved. I hope this brings some healing to the force.
I want to extend my deepest most heartfelt gratitude to Elon Musk, @elonmusk a man I’ve never met, who did this Good Samaritan deed for me in funding my lawsuit.
Thank you Mr. Musk and @X for backing my case and asking for nothing in return.
To my lawyers at @GSchaerr Schaerr|Jaffe who walked me through this unknown territory, thank you for your wisdom and guidance.
I am humbled and grateful to God for His love and grace in this outcome.
I’d like to thank you all for your unrelenting support throughout my life and career, you’ve been the heartbeat that has kept my story alive. I hope to make you proud.
I am excited to flip the page and move onto the next chapter. My desires remain in the arts, which is where I hope you will join me. ♥️
Yes, I’m smiling.
From my heart to yours,
Gina
