🚨🎙️ Peter Schmeichel on Manchester City’s controversial penalty decisions against Brighton:
“Honestly, I will never understand what has been going on with Premier League referees lately. And I’m saying this knowing very well that Manchester City are a rival, so I have absolutely no reason to defend them or pretend I’m on their side. But sometimes you have to be honest about what you’re watching.
I keep replaying both incidents, trying to understand exactly why a penalty wasn’t given. Not once, but twice. And I’m sorry, I genuinely cannot understand the decisions. At some point, you start asking yourself what exactly the officials are looking at because those are situations that deserve serious consideration.
From my point of view, it actually feels like they really wanted Manchester City to lose this game. I’m not saying that is what happened, but when you look at those two incidents and neither results in a penalty, you have to question the consistency of the decisions.
And how long are we going to keep overlooking things like this? These decisions can change the entire direction of a game. They can be the difference between winning, drawing and losing, especially in a match of this importance.
Now, let me be clear. Brighton deserve enormous credit. They played a fantastic game, defended brilliantly and you could see how much effort they put into stopping Manchester City from scoring at the Etihad. They came with a plan and executed it extremely well.
But giving Brighton their credit doesn’t mean we should ignore what happened with those penalty decisions. Both things can be true. Brighton deserved their performance, but those penalties could have changed the game. And that is exactly why these decisions need to be discussed.”
🚨🎙️ Enzo Maresca on the officiating and 4 unpunished handballs committed by Brighton players:
🗣️"To be completely honest with you, it’s just impossible to comprehend what we’ve seen out there today. I am furious.
We had four clear-cut handball incidents in the box go completely unpunished. Four! I’ve watched them back, everyone in the stadium has seen them, and I simply cannot wrap my head around how the referee on the pitch missed every single one of them, and how the people sitting in the VAR room managed to stay silent on all of them.
It is completely unfair, and my players and staff feel like we’ve been dealt a massive injustice. We work all week, we put in a performance, and then the game is taken out of our hands by decisions that defy logic. We were robbed today, plain and simple. It’s unacceptable."
Fighting whom, Doug? You've been Premier for over eight years, with three consecutive majority governments.
You ARE the government. You control the healthcare portfolio.
At what point does “fighting to fix it” become “explaining why you haven't fixed it”?
Watching the Man City saga unfold as someone with absolutely no allegiance to either side…
One of the key pillars of football’s financial rules is supposedly “financial sustainability”.
So how is City’s owner effectively gifting equity to the club considered such a problem, while the Glazers loading Man United with huge debt and interest costs is compliant?
City broke the rules — punish them accordingly. But if debt-loading a club is acceptable while gifting equity isn’t, can we really claim these rules protect financial sustainability?
Perhaps it’s not just the clubs that need scrutiny. Perhaps the rules themselves do.

Tonight, I signed an executive order appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the Cornell sexual assault case.
New information has raised serious questions about how this case was handled, and I’ve lost faith in the Tompkins County DA’s ability to fairly oversee it.
The young woman at the center of this case deserves to know that every fact will be examined and justice pursued.
These two are Carl-Fredrik Arndt and Peter Jonnson. These are the two young men who came across Brock Allen Turner raping a woman. They stopped him, called the police, held him, and kept her safe until the police arrived. What happened after that is a travesty the likes of which has become all too common. Be like these two, not ALLEN Turner..
This town in Nova Scotia got so fed up with the grocery monopolies that they started their own grocery store.
They run the store as a co-op. Fresh food, low prices, local food, money circulating in the town economy.
For the umpteenth time: Quit trying to analyze Trump. Quit trying to figure out why he says and does the things he says and does. I’m so fucking sick of listening to some panel on CNN try to discuss his latest bizarre pronouncement like he’s some normal human being. Stop that. This isn’t complicated- He’s not a normal human being. He’s a sociopath. He lies as he breathes. He’s an idiot. He’s a Russian asset. He gets off on being cruel. He’s never been held accountable for anything he’s done his entire life. He’s a horrible person. And he’s the biggest fucking crybaby who’s ever lived. That’s it.
Why does MAGA get so triggered by everything Canada does?
You’ve said you don’t want anything from us. You’ve said you don’t need us. You’ve said the same about Europe.
So why the outrage when Canada and Europe move closer together?
You should be thrilled. Less need for you.
Hey @google I’d like to report an error.
The lake that borders New York and Ontario is an international body of water, and it is widely agreed by the entire world, except one rogue leader, that the name of this lake is “Lake Ontario”
Grow a spine and fix it.
@sobeys I purchased Compliments frozen blueberries and discovered when I got home that they are a product of the USA. The front of the package says Canada A. I was in a hurry and assumed this meant it was a Canadian product. I wouldn't buy fruit from the USA. Please clarify.
