We are having such a great time learning about habitats this week in zoo camp! Using nature to make the animals in a habitat really helped my students connect their learning to the natural worldโ๏ธ
I had a great last day as an intern for the Birmingham Zoo! Itโs been amazing being able to build a nature play program and interact with guests but Iโm super excited to come back as a zoo camp teacher for the summer!! Bring on those students!๐
The idea of a 3D shape being laid flat to find surface area is a difficult concept to grasp... Until now! Loved these pull-up shapes we made today for surface area and volume! #svusdshines
It was so much fun getting to learn about the process of planning a field trip and then attending one today with my sweet first graders from Tarrant Elementary School!! ๐ฏ #thebirminghamzoo#fieldtrip#firstgradefun
I had the most amazing time finally meeting my three pen pals! These girls have been so much fun to write and get to know over the past semester. We ate popsicles and exchanged books and letters, what a great end of semester treat! ๐
We had the best time at the Yes You Can Teach Conference organized by part of our @SamfordEd leadership team!! I hope the high school students who attended feel even more inspired to become teachers! #teacherleaders
So sad I canโt be there today but I know itโs going to be such a great conference!! Proud of my classmates for doing such an AMAZING job with this event๐
Absolutely loved learning from everyone at instructional rounds for Rock Quarry Elementary today! Affinity mapping is one of my favorite activities we do during this time and we can all learn so much from it! @al_bpc @SchneiderTeach @missmontanari
Today was last day at TES with my amazing first graders. I have learned so much in this placement and I cannot believe my time there is over! I love these sweet students and the amazing teachers and administration I got to learn from as well. I will miss you so much TES!!
Having an โI wish my teacher knewโ basket in the classroom is a quick & effective way to create a positive classroom environment! Itโs so important that our students feel valued & loved.
In first grade today we put together a number line to remind ourselves of the order of numbers all the way to 120!! It was out the door and into the hallway! #tarrantelementaryschool#firstgrade
