@Bdavidson97c@Ststansberry@doctor2pi@Duncannedd@BarnellNicole@tom_karnes Hi Brittany, I think checkpoints during power points is a great way to keep students engaged. I know in some of the college courses I have taken professors did this and I would be sure to be paying attention to get extra points.
@laurenottee@Ststansberry@doctor2pi@Duncannedd@BarnellNicole@tom_karnes Hi Lauren, I think this is a great idea to integrate technology into the classroom. When I sub for elementary schools I notice that the programs you mentioned are pretty common in the classroom and students really enjoy using them, especially Prodigy!
@carissag5849744@tom_karnes@doctor2pi Hi Carissa, I agree that building more public places that offer free Wi-fi can be a great solution for accessible tech. I know some schools loaned chromebooks for home-use after Covid. If they don't have wifi at home a public place with wifi is an option.
@xojessieeex@tom_karnes@doctor2pi Hi Jess, I agree that loaning chromebooks or supplying libraries with resources for the community is a great way to make technology accessible to everyone. I think if librarians are trained on common school programs, they can familiarize students with said programs.
@tom_karnes@doctor2pi A3) Building more public libraries with public computers and Wi-Fi can ensure technology access to all members of a community. A foreseeable challenge is not having enough available computers for everyone to use, but time limits may help. #CSUBTED#EDTE4200@doctor2pi
@Squiggly_Line8@doctor2pi@Duncannedd Hi Wyatt, I agree that language learning apps like Duolingo can be a great tool for EL students. It is very much like a game and I think students would be even more excited to use it because of that.
@MagdalenaBQG@doctor2pi I have never heard of IXL until now! I just looked at the program and I agree, it has so many personalized resources for students on multiple topics and also has some great analytical tools teachers.
@doctor2pi A program that I have learned will benefit EL's is Youtube. Students can watch videos in english to improve their listening and speaking skills. It can also be used to translate video lessons so they can follow along with the class. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@doctor2pi
@s0smoney@BarnellNicole@doctor2pi Hi Esaias, I agree that Youtube can be a great tool to use in the classroom. I have used it many times as a sub whenever students want calming music to work to or when there is a great video on an academic topic I want to show them.
@RedstoneTay@BarnellNicole Hi Taylor, I also agree that social media can be a powerful tool for teachers to build relationships with students. Students are probably already on social media, so incorporating something they enjoy doing in to the class should hopefully get them more engaged.
@BarnellNicole A1) Technology can enhance student-teacher relationships by facilitating communication via email or apps like Slack. Another way can be incorporating collaborative platforms like Google Docs to enable collaboration and real-time feedback. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@doctor2pi
I am gaining so much knowledge on the educational technology that we have access to not only as students but as future educators. I can't wait to use the sites and tools that I'm learning about in my future classroom.๐ฉโ๐ซ #csubted#csubedte4200

As a teacher I canโt stop thinking about how one day it was just completely normal for teachers to wear Ukraine pins to school, but for Palestine teachers have tweeted polls about whether it should be discussed & the govt released โguidanceโ on โchallenging hateful narrativesโ
