Promoting unity and involvement on important topics regarding student cultures, world music events, art shows and festivals. Which will be fun & engaging for students. @gelsv11 @WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 Hi there! I strongly agree that as teachers, we should listen to our students. A simple “how do you feel today�� can mean so much to a student. Many students may not get asked by anyone at home. It will allow them to express themselves. Nicely done!

@amarie88__ @WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 Hi beautiful! YES YES! I love it"memorization can get in the of learning" it's very true. It is so sad when you ask students why they think that's the correct answer, & they say I don't know. I would much rather spend extra time on a problem than have students just memorize it.

@WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 If a student memorizes math facts, the student isn't learning a true math concept, which is damaging because each math problem is designed to build on the next. For Ex: Add, Multi, Divi are all related & coincide. Memorization will only hurt kind in the long run & causes anxiety.

Especially when they share their own reasoning! It's my absolute favorite to learn from them and grow from their perspectives.

@WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 Students will benefit because "Number Talks" helps develop a sense of conceptual understanding, various ways of approaching/ solving a problem. This approach will show a class to learn math using different strategies rather than by memorization.

This is where the whole "you're not a math person" ideal comes from. Students will believe they aren't good enough for math because of the timed exams.

Also, students are tested on how much material they have memorized, and on top of that, they are timed, which pressures students
