Foil Art - northern lights inspired!! 🌌
Engaging art lesson using foil, markers, and water. 👩🏽🎨 Students used their research skills to find photos and videos of the northern lights. They drew on that inspiration to create these beautiful pieces!
Hall display = student created!
Investigating Inventions! 🔨💡⚙️ Our unit, How the World Works, is an inquiry into inventions and their effects on society.

Today was @briarmeadowK_8’s 3rd grade market! I made sure to get there when shops opened! I am in love with my loot this year! Students led the work in creating product, setting prices, and running their own shops!
BCS Third Grade Market was a MASSIVE success! Our class earned $865 to donate to @WWF 🥳
These kids have spent the past month earning $ w/ class jobs, saving to buy materials, manufacturing goods, and creating engaging marketing for their business 💙💛

Such a great way to close out our Who We Are Unit about beliefs and values! We did a gallery walk showcasing an item connected to a specific belief or value. 🖤 Big connections were made between our personal values and the people in our lives who influence them! @briarmeadowK_8
We’re having fun over here in Ms. P’s class! 👩🏾🔬🔬🧑🏼🔬Exploring the states of matter and how they change with root beer floats. An engaging and delicious learning experience! @briarmeadowK_8
Such heart-breaking accounts of how the first week went for some HISD teachers who say they are fearful, stressed out and unable to build relationships with kids under Miles' leadership: 'Every day, I'm crying' https://t.co/FYByiPfuvd via @houstonchron
Yesterday, #HISD Central Office staff demanded that NES/A teachers dismantle their classroom libraries
Libraries turned into zoom discipline centers. NOW classrm libraries and comfy reading books called “clutter.”
Save the children
#NoHISDTakeover
According to HISD Superintendent Mike Miles—and by extension, the Texas state leaders who appointed him—this is what it looks like to “prioritize resources” in a school serving low-income Black and Latinx children.
Counting down the last 10 days of school with my well deserving, hard working, one-of-a-kind, darling class! Thank goodness for looping and that I get to keep ‘em for another year. 🖤
