I had to wait 4 hours in the ER with my 90 year old grandpa because no doctor is seeing in person patients due to the Omicron surge...but yes...send all the kids back to school when you haven't changed anything.

I asked my students what their #1 concern about school was this year. Almost ALL my online students said "feeling neglected because half of us are online vs in class"
And while I am doing my best to combine the two worlds, it is exhausting for everyone. #HybridHurtsKids

I was in highschool when the new curriculum was introduced. Literally went from learning it to teaching it 13 years later.
& honestly I can tell you high school is nothing like it was when I was in it.

For those who don’t know, the current secondary (9-12) science curriculum will be as old as our grade 9 students next year. I began teaching when we called it the “new” curriculum, over 13 years ago. The original iPhone was also new at the time. iPads hadn’t been invented yet. 😂

A parent called me today just to tell me thank you and say she appreciated how much effort I put into making my class accessible for all the kids in it. And how "sometimes you just need to hear that you're appreciated, especially now"

Never, ever, ever go to a colleague's classroom without permission to drop off forms/etc. or to remind a colleague of x, y, z.

By interrupting BIPOC teachers in class you are telling students that your authority is more important than the BIPOC teacher's authority in class.
