Today in class we discussed the serious issue of food insecurity in Northern Communities in Canada. Ss were shocked to see the price differences. We discussed why these communities are facing food insecurities, what role the different levels of gov. have, & potential solutions.

Today we did our first data talk! Such rich talk occurred because of this- noticing, inferences, discussions about samples and population and how result might be different if the population changed. Great resources by @joboaler for interpreting data!

Ss were given a book summary and asked to design what they thought the front cover looked like and what the title of the book was. Ss then shared their reasons with the class, before revealing the actual books. These are the 6 books we will be using for Book Clubs!
