HAPPY WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY! A day to celebrate ALL learners and to advocate for inclusion. "Inclusion" is a noun, "include" is a verb... but how will YOU define it?

Also, here's me casually celebrating #WorldPoetryDay2022 with an acrostic poem about inclusion. That's two birds.✌️ Offering extra credit for anyone else who goes above and beyond. #extra

February 2nd is not only Groundhog's Day this year... it's National Read Aloud Day! Any groundhog centered read aloud books...? Recommendations? Two birds, one stone?
https://t.co/abeYOhINbd via @pinterest If one were to create word walls with QR codes, would that effectively put the content in the classroom if the students need it... but still keep it easy for assessment? How would this work for vocab? Thoughts?
Writing unit plan for curriculum & instruction and had the brainchild to change it while it’s still in its earliest draft. So what’re we feeling? Should I stay with a short story unit for grade 10, or switch to brit lit & do Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest for grade 12?
Literally had no idea there was so many ways to have classroom participation and interaction on one lesson. Guess who's got homework? You do. #lumio#gccedu
@Buncee Thank you! I had SO much fun creating my own Bitmoji classroom for class using Buncee, so interactive and helps my perfectionist brain! My college class especially liked how we can add links to content in these classrooms that makes it more fun for students!! 😁
My 4th grade teacher mother is humbled (& scared) I'm talking about her in my Buncee write-up. But as someone who had no experience with Bitmojis in March 2020 and now uses them daily, I feel like she's a perfect subject. It's never too late to learn and use a tech tool! 🤩
Tips for old (or new) souls here on edu-Twitter:
1. Start where you’re comfortable
2. ENGAGE with others on here (we don’t bite!)
3. Choose the path of least resistance
4. Share what you learn (it’s not always rocket science! 🚀)
5. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes!

This is your reminder to include “wait time” in classroom planning. When waiting for student responses, you allow more “think time” and time for them to process.... and could get more participation as a result. 🤩#gccedu#WAITforit#WAITtime
More ed-tech tools you asked? Hmm... how are you formatively assessing students? @JakeMillerTech 's got a bunch of suggestions over on IG, but I'm personally rooting for Blooket 😜
As we begin #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we want to thank every educator who—in the midst of an overwhelming year—continues to advocate for students, for themselves and for justice. Appreciation isn't enough. You deserve systemic support. We will demand it, this week and always.
My goal is to make sure that I proctor a safe environment for students of all races, where racism will NOT be tolerated. I hope to be able to help my classroom, school, district, and community “do better” when it comes to racism, as “there is still more work to do” everywhere.
Racism continues to be a prevailing problem in our schools and in our nation. Schools like this are taking the necessary steps, acknowledging that “there’s still more work to do” to creating a community of change. #gccedu https://t.co/53YK0MxtT4
Today in CRP we talked about children in poverty. I’m glad that the USFG is making some strides to combat child poverty and give kids rights to a life they deserve. Teachers are real-world advocates for these kids and small steps are STILL steps. Let’s make a difference. #gccedu
