I should have added that the entire case is that Trump allegedly inflated his assets to secure better loans (therefore making more money), but the loans have already been paid and the banks have all made profits.

There is nobody saying that Trump still owes him money. So there is no injured party. But Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York State believes otherwise and claims Trump made money he should not have made and wants him to pay the State $250 million.

I must note that many have already pointed out that the assets she claims were inflated were not, Trump's Mar-a-Lago home is just one example, which was substantially undervalued by James. I am no lawyer but many people argue that this is simply election interference, and nothing else.
