Understand what is next:
- Assessments will continue to go up so more homes land in the $1 million+ range.
- “2nd homes” will expand across the state. Get ready to cough up for your family’s house on the lake, hunting cabin, etc.
- They will expand it to other things beyond homes. 2nd cars, property over 1 acre…you name it - they’ll find a way.
More Schmidt on SBU:
"You can't put it into words. You gotta see it. And when you see it, you'll believe it.
That's what Bonaventure is, and that's what Bonaventure has been to me."
Mark Schmidt rebuilt the program from the depths of hell to an A10 Champion in five years.
He'll be with Bob Lanier, the Stith brothers, and Andrew Nicholson in Bona lore.
Record be damned, the Reilly Center should be packed Saturday to give an ovation his legacy calls for.
Mark Schmidt was an amazing coach. He could find hidden gems and develop them. Those days are long gone. Ever since the N. Iowa game his teams have been underperforming. That’s 5+ years of mediocrity. Time to give him his flowers and reinvest his bloated salary.
Check this one out: fixers apparently tried to bribe La Salle players to underperform against the Bonnies in 2024, betting heavily on SBU to cover the -5.5 first half spread.
La Salle led 36–28 at halftime and won 72-59 anyways.
FEET of snow coming to the snow belts next week! Before that, a HUGE wind event NE and E of both lakes Erie and Ontario that will result in near Blizzard conditions on Monday/Monday Night. We will be out chasing all week!
It’s hard to blame Scott Drew or any of the college coaches for this if it’s allowed by the NCAA.
But it’s become a complete joke now because there are no rules anymore.
It’s just “make it up as you go” now.
And where does it end?
After leading Pioneer to a New York State Public High School Athletic Association flag football championship, sophomore Ellie Edwards and junior Jayden Leederman have been named the all-state co-players of the year in Class C. https://t.co/k27N4Rfwb6
The saddest part of this new transactional era is that most college hoops fans have wisely rewired their brains to avoid any emotional investment in the players.
The player-fan bond that once made CBB unique, and turned players into lifelong campus and community icons, is gone.
Bonnies went up 16-4 and 22-12, but gave up a 15-3 run over 6+ minutes and surrendered the lead at the break.
SBU continues to struggle out of timeouts and hit a wall offensively around the U8 as the shot selection went south.
